“We have go to extend Detroit’s recovery to every neighborhood and we’ve got to extend opportunity to every Detroiter,” Duggan said. “We have to shift from making the services work to a city where everybody is included and everybody is participating.”
"Nobody had an idea what the future was (four years ago)," Duggan said. "... At that point, the city had completely lost its right to self-determination. We had an emergency manager and bankruptcy board in charge of our destiny ... We know what our mission is now. We have to extend Detroit's recovery to every neighborhood."
People across the city are talking about Mayor Duggan’s strong performance last night, and how he deserves a second term as Mayor.
"Keep the man in there, he's doing a fantastic job"
Today, the Black Slate Political Action Committee (PAC), one of Detroit's most influential African American community organizations, endorsed Mike Duggan in his bid for a second term as mayor.
"We’re proud to endorse Mayor Mike Duggan for a second term, because he’s the best choice to create jobs and good opportunities for all of our city’s working people,” said Lawrence A. Roehrig, president of AFSCME Council 25.
